ITBMonday is now..... Insider Mondays

Past Insider Selections. We say any bottle.. and we mean it!
While running kids around to various first days of school, I’ve had a chance to think about a new name for ITBMonday now that it’s not just for those of us “In The Business.”

I thought about Nearly-In-The-Business Mondays. Or Friends-Of-The-Business Monday. Or maybe Thinking-About-The-Business-But-Wisely-Won’t-Give-Up-My-Day-Job. But TATBBWWGUMDJMondays is a bit unwieldy. I even thought about going the alliterative route with Mini-Mark-Up-Mondays but that felt too mathy, too cutesy – still didn’t really convey the “insider” notion that I wanted.

So I decided to keep it simple and just call it what it is: Insider Mondays. As in, if you’re “insider” enough to know about the discount, then you qualify, even if you’ve never set foot behind a counter, taken inventory, or written a word of wine-related prose.

Now the fun part:  we’re going all open-sesame with a password. Or really, with a passphrase. So that we’ll know that you know that you’re in the know. You’ll need to tell us, “Frank sent me.”  Say those three magic words and you qualify. Here’s a review of what you’ll qualify for.

INSIDER MONDAYS… the Inside Scoop:

Until we decide otherwise, every Monday, you can come by the store, tell us “Frank sent me” and get any 3 bottles at a 25% MU* from cost.

That’s right. Any. Three. Bottles. Even bubbles.

Even spirits. The catch? We're going to want to post especially cool selections to twitter, facebook, and this blog. So choose wisely and photogenic-ly

The not-so-fine print:
  • We are open from 11AM - 8PM on Mondays
  • The deal applies to in-store purchases or phone orders only
  • If you place a phone order, you must pay for it at that time with a credit card and we will hold it for you to pick up. Or have it delivered if needed (regular fees apply.)
  • You can’t call us on a non-Monday and ask us to hold an item for you until Monday so you can get the Monday price.
* MU = Mark-Up. For those of you not familiar with retail-math, the deal price is NOT a discount off shelf price. It’s based on a fixed, lower-than-normal mark-up from cost. Generally, a 25% MU translates to roughly a 15 - 20% discount from shelf price. But that’s not always the case. Sometimes it’s more, sometimes it’s less - it depends on what the original mark-up to shelf price was. If you want to confirm a specific Monday price in advance, give us a call and ask.
